Is Van Dijk Really A Proudy & Arrogant For What He Spoke About Ronaldo?!!

Liverpool and the Netherlands defender Virgil Van Dijk who got crowned as Best UEFA Best Men’s Player  Of The Year 2019 Award and Ranked Twice on the Ballon D’or List after Messi, While Attending the Ballon Dor Ceremony a reporter asked van Dijk “Cristiano Ronaldo is not here tonight so is that 1 less rival for you tonight?” The Reply by Van Dijk was “ Was he a rival to me” and smiled after that, this particular reply raged Ronaldo’s fans all over the social media instead of twitter.

                              While Cristiano’s sister Katia Aveiro tweeted as she wrote “I think there are people living completely frustrated!!! And unrealistic… such humility! It is well known that Ronaldo will not win tonight’s prize. Although I have won important collective titles … but this is another conversation and that up ahead we will see where the truth about football !! You see, my dear Virgil, that Cristiano Ronaldo was a treble champion in the country where you have been playing for years and you still haven’t got your hand in the Trophy”

Although Van dijk was one of the major contender for winning the Ballon D’or this year.

Van Dijk replied to the Piers tweet and stated.

"Hi Piers, If you don't jump on the social media bandwagon and would listen to the whole interview then you would know I made a joke, and only got respect for those 2." Virgil van Dijk (@VirgilvDijk)

Fortunately Van Dijk was one of 4 Liverpool players who made it to  the top 10,along with  Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Alisson. The latter won a new prize for the goalkeeper of the year.

When van Dijk was asked about by the reporter that how will he consolidate Sadio Mane if he doesn’t win that he replied “ Try next year” which also sounded little arrogant.

Conclusion : If we closely analyze to what Virgil Van dijk said and his reaction after it, we can coclude that he really was having fun with the reporters, He really didn’t mean what he said. And also he replied to various tweets where she showed that he really didn’t mean that and he was being funny and not serious at all.
